CIRCULAR BIOCARBON wins two awards

CIRCULAR BIOCARBON’s efforts in valorising bio-waste into added-value products have been recognised by two awards, given out respectively by Heraldo, a newspaper from the Spanish province of Aragon, and the BioCircular Summit, organised by the Spanish Biocircularity Assocation and the Spanish Biocircularity and Technology Platform.

Heraldo gave CIRCULAR BIOCARBON The Special Award for Industrial Innovation during the tenth edition of its Tercer Milenio ceremony, lauding the project for launching Europe’s first flagship urban biorefinery. The award was accepted by Eduardo Fernández, director of innovation at project coordinator URBASER, who noted that it is a great “incentive to improve waste treatment processes under the concept of circular economy. Innovatioon and knowledge are the main sources of shared prosperity and economic growth.”

The BioCircular Summmit held its first State BioCircularity Awards, where CIRCULAR BIOCARBON won in the category BIoCircular Innovation for “turning carbon of complex organic urban waste streams into value added products.” The summit recognises its award winners as leaders in the transformation towards sustainable biocircular business models, and sees bio circularity as environmental and socioeconomic pillar for the advancement of a balanced and inclusive ecological transition.
