Who are we?
The project involves 11 partners from five European countries (Spain, Italy, Denmark, France and Germany) and is coordinated by global environmental manager URBASER. CIRCULAR BIOCARBON has an overall budget of 22.952.297,50€, with an EU contribution of 14.999.999,75 €, through Biobased Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU). Established in 2014, BBI JU aims to implement the Strategic Innovation & Research Agenda (SIRA), developed by industry in collaboration with the EU to realise a bio-based economy and reach its target of being climate-neutral by 2050 — an economy with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Urbaser is a world leader in environmental management, a global sustainability-oriented company, serving more than 50 million people in 25 countries through a huge network of more than 40,000 employees and over 160 subsidiary companies. Its mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of cities and territories with efficient services and innovative technology.
SOCAMEX
SOCAMEX is a division of the Urbaser Group that has been dedicated to integral water cycle management for more than 30 years. With a workforce of more than 250 individuals, SOCAMEX completes design, construction, maintenance, and operation work for purification and treatment plants, water regeneration, and treatment facilities, and also provides technical assistance to companies and communities.
Gruppo CAP
CAP Group, a public limited company owned by local authorities, is the main water service management company in the territory of the Metropolitan City of Milan and some municipalities in the provinces of Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese and Como. CAP Group currently guarantees integrated water service to over 2 million inhabitants, manages the assets of networks and systems, and plans and implements investments and routine and extraordinary maintenance works.
CemeCon Scandinavia
CemeCon Scandinavia A/S was founded back in 2004 and, today, is a 100% Scandinavian owned company. They develop, produce and offer advanced ceramic coatings for industrial customers. CemeCon Scandinavia are experts in advanced coatings for metal forming and plastic forming tools, cutting tools, components and wear parts.
Graphenea
Graphenea, a technology company founded in 2010, is a world leading graphene producer. The 25 employees in Graphenea work on contributing to the successful development of Graphene applications for its customers, in a wide range of sectors and in more than 60 countries worldwide.
Novamont
Novamont is an Italian company and international leader in the bioplastics sector and in the development of biochemicals. Novamont develops bioplastics and bio-based products that, thanks to their biodegradability in different environments, can contribute to the protection of ecosystems and natural capital.
All-RG (Agro Innovation Lab)
The Groupe Roullier is an independent family-owned group present in eight markets: the Food Industry, Soil and plant nutrition and animal production, Algology, Renewable Energies, Magnesium, Plant Nutrition for the General Public, Packaging and Calcium phosphorus solutions. Fully committed to plant and animal nutrition for more than 60 years, Roullier's international subsidiary TIMAC AGRO is preparing solutions for the agriculture of tomorrow at the Centre Mondial de l’Innovation Roullier. Our aim is to develop highly technical products to meet the needs of crops and species on every continent – respecting the soil, plants and animals. AII-RG (Agro Innovation International- Roullier Group) is the Research & Development department of Roullier.

Beta Technological Centre at the Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC)
The Technological Centre in Biodiversity, Ecology and Environmental and Food Technology was born in June 2014, to give a definitive boost to the research activity in the field of the environmental technologies at the Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC). The main mission of the BETA Technological Centre is to be a relevant actor for technological development and the improvement of the quality of life of rural societies.
Universidad de Valladolid Instituto de Procesos Sostenibles
The Institute of Sustainable Processes (ISP) is a research institute of the University of Valladolid dedicated to solving environmental issues and improving industrial processes through the development of sustainable technologies, as well as control and automation tools. ISP is becoming a leading centre in research and innovation for the development of a sustainable economy that’s based on the proper management of natural resources and waste.
Università Politecnica delle Marche
Marche Polytechnic University is a public university in Ancona, Italy. The teaching faculty currently numbers 710 teaching staff, along with 560 technical and administrative personnel. These are the 5 schools in which the university is divided into: the School of Agriculture, the School of Economics, the School of Engineering, the School of Medicine and Surgery, and the School of Sciences.
